Who we are

Locally Visible (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. We provide AI search visibility services for Canadian local businesses. Our website is locallyvisible.ca. You can reach us at hello@locallyvisible.ca.

What data we collect

When you request a free visibility check, we collect:

  • Business name — so we know who the check is for
  • What you do — your trade or profession, so we ask the questions your clients would actually ask
  • City — the market the check covers
  • Email address — to send you the results
  • Website URL — optional, if you have one already
  • UTM parameters — how you found us, such as which ad or social post you clicked

We do not collect your phone number, physical address, payment information, or any other personal information at the free-check stage.

How we use your data

  • To run the free visibility check: ask ChatGPT and Google the questions your clients would ask, for your business and your city
  • To email you the results, usually within two business days
  • To follow up about website design and development or the SEO and AI visibility program, if the check shows you are hard to find
  • To measure how people find our website (analytics)

We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in two places:

  • Supabase (database) — hosted in Canada Central (ca-central-1). Your signup data stays in Canada.
  • Loops (email automation) — used to send the welcome email sequence. Loops processes your email address to deliver emails on our behalf.

We do not store your data on any other platforms. We do not use your data for AI model training.

Analytics and tracking

We use the following analytics tools:

  • Google Analytics 4 — to understand how visitors interact with our website: page views, scroll depth, conversions. Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out using Google’s browser opt-out plugin.
  • Meta Pixel (when active) — to measure ad performance if we run Facebook or Instagram ads. You can manage your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.

Analytics and advertising tools process usage information and identifiers according to their settings. Avoid including confidential information in forms or page URLs.

OpenAI ad measurement

The law-firm assessment form offers an optional, unchecked choice to enable OpenAI ad measurement. Declining does not affect your assessment. When enabled, the OpenAI Pixel can use an ad-click identifier stored in a first-party cookie and automatically hash supported contact details in your browser to match a successful request to an ad. Hashing does not make these identifiers anonymous. This measurement data is sent to OpenAI, which may process it outside Canada. We send the assessment event with the option to opt out of future user-level personalization.

We load this Pixel only after you select the measurement option. You can uncheck it before submitting to stop subsequent measurement events. You can also remove the site's cookies through your browser settings. We do not send case descriptions, client names or confidential legal information as conversion-event fields. OpenAI's privacy policy explains its data handling.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies from Google Analytics and, when active, Meta Pixel. These are third-party analytics cookies used to understand traffic patterns. We do not use cookies for advertising targeting on our own site.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. The free visibility check form works without cookies enabled.

Your rights under PIPEDA

As a Canadian resident, you have the following rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA):

  • Access — you can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction — you can ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion — you can ask us to delete your information entirely
  • Withdrawal of consent — you can unsubscribe from emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us directly

Quebec residents (Law 25)

If you are a Quebec resident, you have additional rights under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), including the right to data portability and the right to be informed of automated decision-making. We do not use automated decision-making on personal data. For data portability requests, contact us at hello@locallyvisible.ca.

Data retention

We retain the details from your free visibility check for as long as you remain a prospective or active customer. If you request deletion, we will remove your data from both Supabase and Loops within seven business days.

Children’s privacy

Our service is designed for business owners and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
